Shanghai Rongwen Group originated as a village-run enterprise in Huaping Village, Huangqin Town, Taicang County in 1978. In its early days, the enterprise mainly engaged in the production of hardware accessories. After several years of hard work, taking advantage of the national economic reform policies, it established Huaping Lighting Factory in 1984. In 1992, it collaborated with Hong Kong Rongwen Technology Co., Ltd., and in 1997, it established Suzhou Rongwen kubai Lighting System Co., Ltd. In 2002, it officially formed Suzhou Rongwen Group, and in 2003, it established Taicang Rongwen Synthetic Fiber Co., Ltd. In 2008, it established Australian Rongwen International. Subsequently, it gradually expanded and established several branches.

At present, the group enterprise covers an area of nearly 260 acres and has approximately 1,000 employees. It has over 10 subsidiaries. The enterprise mainly focuses on two major sectors: lighting and fiber products. The annual sales exceed 1.5 billion yuan. Among them, the lighting products (about 5 billion yuan) have their international business mainly distributed in the North American market, mainly focusing on indoor commercial lighting; the domestic business mainly consists of engineering and landscape lighting, "5G" intelligent lamp poles, and smart industrial lighting, providing one-stop services for smart city products and solutions. The enterprise undertakes lighting projects all over the world, including projects such as the lighting of Tian'anmen Square in Beijing, the Great Hall of the People, the Hangzhou Bay Cross-Bridge, and the Dubai Tower in the United Arab Emirates, and the Maptotakenbeten Bridge in Mozambique in Africa. The fiber products (over 1 billion yuan) mainly focus on the research and production of multi-component fibers and functional fibers. It is one of the larger suppliers of ultra-fine fibers and PBT fibers in China. The fiber cleaning products series are sold far to the European and American markets and are the main suppliers of large supermarket household cleaning and car cleaning towel series products for Walmart and Costco. In recent years, the group has utilized the production capacity of Rongwen kubai Lighting to produce and process automotive parts for new energy vehicle customers. Many companies have rapidly gathered in the new factory of Rongwen kubai, and in October 2024, the "Rongwen Science and Technology Innovation Park" was established to add new highlights to the development of the enterprise. 

The enterprise has been implementing total quality management since 1985 and has successively obtained certifications for multiple management systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, IATF16949 and GB/T29490. In recent years, the group enterprise has carried out industry-university-research cooperation with Soochow University and Shanghai Donghua University, establishing graduate workstations and academicians' workstations. Two companies, Rongwen Cooper Lighting and Rongwen Synthetic Fibers, have respectively been awarded titles such as "High-tech Enterprises of Jiangsu Province", "Private Technology Enterprises of Jiangsu Province", "Enterprise Technology Center of Jiangsu Province" and "Engineering Technology Research Center of Jiangsu Province". Rongwen Cooper Lighting has successively won the "Suzhou Quality Award" and the "Mayor's Quality Management Excellence Award of Taicang City". Rongwen Synthetic Fibers has been rated as a "Specialized and High-Technology Enterprise of Jiangsu Province". The two brands of the enterprise, "Rongwen" and "Greenbao", have also been awarded as famous trademarks of Jiangsu Province. Due to the remarkable performance of the group enterprise, it has been successively honored with titles such as "Star Enterprise of Jiangsu Province", "Advanced Enterprise for Exporting Foreign Exchange Nationwide" and "Superior Credit Unit of Chinese Enterprises".

Over the past 40 years, under the correct leadership of Chairman Guan Xueping, Rongwen Group has grown from a small factory to a relatively large-scale group enterprise through arduous efforts. While developing, the company has also not forgotten to give back to society. To date, it has cumulatively donated nearly 40 million yuan for education, village construction, and donations to disaster-stricken areas. The names of Rongwen Kindergarten, Rongwen Primary School, Rongwen Middle School, Rongwen Village, and Rongwen Road are all sources of pride for the Rongwen people and also bear witness to their commitment to social public welfare.
